Aaron Gibson
President & Senior Environmental Scientist
Aaron has more than 21 years of experience in environmental science, ecological restoration, and stormwater compliance. His career began at age 19 working in a native plant nursery before advancing into large-scale habitat restoration projects, where he discovered a passion for protecting and restoring natural resources.
Since 2016, Aaron has focused on stormwater and environmental compliance, earning a reputation as one of the Pacific Northwest's trusted experts in stormwater management and environmental compliance. His expertise spans environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, stormwater management, and developing practical solutions that help clients navigate complex environmental requirements while protecting water quality and natural ecosystems.
As President and majority owner of ERSM, Aaron leads the company's operations with a commitment to integrity, technical excellence, and responsive client service. He believes the best environmental solutions are built through collaboration, clear communication, and a people-first approach—empowering both clients and employees to achieve successful, lasting outcomes.
Outside the office, Aaron enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Susie Pernsteiner
Business Administrator
Susie Pernsteiner joined ERSM in May 2026 as the Business Administrator, bringing nearly a decade of leadership and operational experience in small business management within the ecological restoration and stormwater management industry.
At ERSM, Susie oversees a broad range of administrative and financial functions. She is passionate about creating efficient systems, streamlining processes, and implementing checks and balances that promote accuracy, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization. Her strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement support both the ERSM team and its clients.
Susie earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Global Business from the University of Portland. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, traveling to new destinations, and cheering on her daughter at volleyball matches.
Ryan Masterman
Stormwater Analyst (CESCL)
With over 13 years of experience in environmental management, Ryan brings a strong background in stormwater project management, erosion control, and native plant restoration. His career has spanned native plant nurseries, reforestry, invasive species management, and stormwater companies, making him a versatile and valuable member of the ERSM team.
Passionate about sustainability and conservation, Ryan is dedicated to improving the environmental impact of infrastructure projects. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, bird watching, and exploring the outdoors with his wife.
Amanda Gibson
Project Controls Manager
Amanda Gibson serves as ERSM's Project Controls Manager, overseeing project setup, coordination, and the day-to-day administrative operations that keep projects running efficiently. With backgrounds in education and the medical field, she brings exceptional organizational skills and a strong commitment to quality, ensuring every project is managed with accuracy and attention to detail.
Amanda plays a key role in supporting project teams, streamlining processes, and maintaining the high standards ERSM is known for. Her dedication and attention to detail help keep projects organized, on schedule, and positioned for success.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys traveling, paddleboarding, camping, and spending quality time with her husband.
Brian Nikolas
Erosion & Sediment Control Analyst (CESCL)
Brian brings over six years of experience in the environmental sector. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Washington State University, he began his career on a restoration crew, gaining hands-on experience managing wetland and stormwater projects across Washington and Oregon.
Since then, Brian has developed expertise in wetland delineations, restoration project management, stormwater compliance, and erosion control as a certified CESCL. He is dedicated to advancing restoration outcomes and protecting local ecosystems.
Austin Ada
Restoration Ecologist
Austin brings five years of experience in ecological restoration and mitigation. A graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Environmental and Ecosystem Sciences, he has managed projects throughout Washington and Oregon, from the sagebrush landscapes of the east side to the watersheds of Vancouver. His specialized expertise in noxious weed management plays a vital role in the long-term success of ERSM’s restoration projects.
Outside of work, Austin enjoys snowboarding, dirt biking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. He also dedicates time on weekends to volunteering with local nonprofits.
Britta Plumhoff
Wildlife Biologist & Ecologist
Britta Plumhoff is a Wildlife Biologist and Ecologist at ERSM with experience in wildlife surveys, fish relocation, ecological restoration, native plant identification, environmental monitoring, project management, data collection, and technical reporting. Her diverse field experience and strong organizational skills make her a valuable member of the ERSM team.
Known for her attention to detail, professionalism, and positive attitude, Britta approaches every project with dedication and respect. She is committed to delivering high-quality work while fostering strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and project partners.
Outside of work, Britta enjoys spending time with her dog, camping, hiking, playing kickball, and relaxing with a craft beer after a day outdoors.
Orion 'Mano' Gallegos
Stormwater Hydro Vac Operator
Orion 'Mano' Gallegos brings more than five years of heavy equipment and hydro excavation experience to the stormwater industry, backed by a strong work ethic shaped through his commercial fishing background. His hands-on experience in demanding environments has given him a deep appreciation for teamwork, safety, and environmental stewardship.
Proud of his Pacific Islander heritage, Orion is passionate about protecting waterways and preserving the health of the ocean for future generations. He takes great pride in stormwater management, recognizing that every river, stream, and drainage system ultimately leads to the sea. Helping keep pollutants out of local waterways is more than a job—it is a personal mission.
Known by the nickname 'Mano,' the Hawaiian word for 'shark,' Orion hopes to one day contribute to improving and restoring stormwater systems throughout Hawaii. His connection to the ocean drives his commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable water practices.
Outside of work, Orion enjoys camping with his family, spearfishing, and spending time on the beaches of his second home, the Big Island of Hawaii.
Raechel Burke
Safety Coordinator & Environmental Scientist
Raechel Burke is ERSM's Safety Coordinator and Environmental Scientist, bringing a diverse background in environmental science, ecological restoration, field operations, and workplace safety. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Ecosystem Sciences from Washington State University and is certified in 40-hour HAZWOPER, Wilderness First Aid, OHV operations, and FEMA Incident Command System (IS-100 and IS-700). Her experience includes environmental monitoring, native habitat restoration, invasive species management, vegetation surveys, species identification, water and soil monitoring, scientific reporting, and project coordination.
As ERSM's Safety Coordinator, Raechel is committed to fostering a strong culture of safety while ensuring projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Outside of work, Raechel enjoys hiking, camping, exploring Washington's parks and natural areas, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Max Matterazzo
CESCL & Erosion Control Specialist
Max Matterazzo is ERSM's CESCL and Erosion Control Specialist, bringing a strong background in environmental science, ecological restoration, and erosion and sediment control. He earned his degree in Environmental Science with a Geoscience minor from College of the Holy Cross and has developed extensive experience implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) to protect water quality and ensure regulatory compliance on construction and restoration projects.
As ERSM's erosion control lead, Max oversees erosion and sediment control operations, ensuring BMPs are installed, maintained, and inspected to the highest industry standards. His attention to detail, technical expertise, and hands-on approach have earned him a reputation as ERSM's go-to expert for BMP installation and erosion control solutions.
Outside of work, Max enjoys spending time with friends and family, golfing, reading, traveling, and taking every opportunity to explore and enjoy the outdoors.
Dylan Clevenger
Stormwater Maintenance & Inspection Lead
Dylan Clevenger is ERSM's Stormwater Maintenance & Inspection Lead, bringing a strong background in environmental science, stormwater systems, and field operations. He earned his degree in Environmental Science from the University of Washington and has experience performing stormwater system inspections, maintenance, environmental compliance, and implementing BMPs.
Outside of work, Dylan enjoys playing basketball, spending time with family and friends, camping, fishing, hiking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
Cameron Tilley
North Washington Stormwater Analyst & Ecologist
Cameron brings over six years of experience in the environmental field, working his way from field crew to project manager and now leading ERSM’s expansion into Northern Washington. His career has fueled a deep passion for protecting natural environments and vital waterways through regulatory compliance, client and public education, and positive project outcomes.
Known for his kindhearted approach and respect for others, Cameron builds strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and communities. Outside of work, he enjoys one-wheeling the hilly streets of Bremerton and playing adventure-style games with his two children, ages 6 and 9.
